No Silly Title

Forgive me, but I could not come up with an appropriate title this morning.

Beth had a good day yesterday. Her oxygen level was down to 87%, even while she was eating yesterday. She is still on morphine, but is trying her hardest to only accept the minimum amount necessary. Her spirits are still incrediably strong, despite being half drunk on the medicine.

Also, after what has seemed like forever, Beth received a different style mask. This one presses on different parts of her face, which will hopefully allow several sore spots on her nose and forehead to heal.

We are all obviously anxious for Beth's recovery. We appreciate all the cards, e-mails, etc. that we have received over the last several weeks. We all knew that Beth had been a part of many people's lives, but we are constantly amazed at how important she has been to so many people. Please continue to share your memories and stories with us. We will be sure to share them with Beth.

This one's for Matt:
I hope this blog is as helpful for you to "journal" as it is for us to stay in touch. You're a wonderful son from a wonderful family, and everyone I've talked to has expressed appreciation for this blogspot. You don't need to publish this message. God bless you all.

Hi Beth and Family,

So glad to hear you are hanging tough! You are constantly on my mind and in my prayers. Thank Matt again for keeping us informed.

Just wondered - could you listen to music if you had a headset? Didn't know if you felt like it or not - but Alan Jackson has a new CD out of OLD hymns that is so good...and I have a personal CD player that is small with headphones. Just let me know if it would help...can drop it in the mail to you.

Beth,
I was in your home town of Altavista this past week. I was thinking of you while there.
I continue to pray that you will be lifted up and for your full recovery.
EPH 3:20-21: Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

I spent yesterday & most of today at Special Olympics helping with the communications. I even got several comments that I did a great job. Well, anyway on Fri afternoon I stopped by to see anybody hanging around outside but saw no one. I did try. Tell Beth the Ole' Hokie & his gang said Hi,and I will continue to pray &
convert her grandson to a Hokie.
